Limbic Reflexology CPD
Jubilee College is proud to host Hamish Edgar at our venues for his fabulous CPD course.
Limbic Reflexology Training is an AOR approved CPD course for Reflexologists. The Course provides insights into the complex processes of the brain and offers a range of precision Limbic brain reflex areas and the techniques for working those areas.
The restoration of homeostatic norms is the goal of any Reflexology approach and the limbic brain networks are at the centre of these homeostatic processes. Now we can connect with those altered brain networks that underpin many of those complex disabling conditions that our clients present, including emotional disturbance, traumatic memory, pain, and chronic pain.
Limbic Reflexology is based on sound medical science, and finds its rationale, and is informed by, up-to-date research in neuroscience with the efficacy of our treatments being evidenced by the use of widely accepted outcome measures. Both the neuroscience research and the outcome measures form an important part of the training.
Limbic processes are involved in regulating almost any physiological process. As such, the Limbic brain is the control centre for homeostatic norms. Research any condition and you will find altered homeostatic processes which are regulated by Limbic processes. Chronic pain conditions, Parkinson’s disease, spectrum disorders, migraine, Trigeminal neuralgia, depression and anxiety, PTSD, OCD - all involve altered function in the limbic networks. Limbic Reflexology allows us to get to the heart of the problem.
Hamish says: "I often liken it to a flooded kitchen: We can mop up the floor each week or we can more effectively go to the source of the flooding and turn off the tap. So, for example, in chronic pain conditions such as Fibromyalgia or M.E/CFS, it is well known that the exaggerated experience of pain and fatigue is created by central sensitisation in the limbic brain circuits and processes. So, by including the the Limbic reflex areas in our treatment, we can influence the altered Limbic circuits underpinning the problem. By incorporating Limbic reflex areas into your existing practice, it gives you the opportunity to connect with those networks and nuclei which are intimately involved in the powerful homeostatic influences of the Limbic brain."
There are three modules in the training - Online study of the reflex areas and techniques, practical workshop to hone these skills and two submitted case studies to deepen your knowledge, understanding and application.
Theory
The online foundation module covers all the Limbic reflex areas and working techniques including video tutorials on each of the 30 reflex areas.
Practical
On the one day practical workshop, you hone your skills in locating the Limbic reflex areas and application of technique and prepare for appropriate case studies. The workshop is a one day face to face followed by an online meeting to cover talk and chalk details and to discuss case studies.
Case studies
This is where the real learning occurs with the transformation from knowing to doing. Detailed guidance on completion of case studies is included in both the online module and on the practical days.
Investment
Before booking a workshop, you must first be enrolled in the foundation online course. Once enrolled and logged in, use the Book Workshop menu item to book your place on the workshop. In the online video tutorials, you will learn all the limbic reflex areas and their working techniques. In the Workshop, you will fine tune those techniques and routines.
Enrol in the online course for £240.
Workshop fee is £190, reduced to £160 for early birds.

Finger Free Reflexology
Learn a radical new method of delivering Reflexology that will set you apart from your competitors! David's Finger Free techniques also give protection from the risk of repetitive strain injury.
Finger Free ® Reflexology has been devised and created by David Wayte. He was concerned about the likelihood of Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI) to the fingers and hands, resulting in Reflexologists having to give up their therapy after developing osteoarthritis in their fingers. Thinking there must be an answer to this problem, David spent five years perfecting this new technique and now offers it to you.
Whilst developing Finger Free® Reflexology, David found that his clients actually preferred it to classical Reflexology, and discovered that the healing reaction to the techniques was profound. Not only that, but the technique allowed him to use far les pressure, and yet at the same time, give a deeper treatment for the client.
Want To Watch?
If you would like to see what Finger Free Reflexology looks like, please have a look at our short promotional video below:
To become a registered Finger Free® Reflexologist you attend one of our training courses and then submit 10 documented treatments.
Finger Free® training is available only to fully qualified Reflexologists. You will be personally trained by David Wayte, who developed Finger Free® Reflexology.
Training dates are listed below. Candidates for this course must currently hold a full Practitioners Diploma in Reflexology / Certified Reflexologist.

REFLEXOLOGY TRAINING COURSE
Do you want to learn Reflexology? Do you have a passion to be the best? Jubilee College is particularly proud to be teaching the Level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology in Yorkshire, the East Midlands, Cambridgshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Essex, London, Kent and West Sussex. Our Reflexology training course is accepted by the Association of Reflexologists, Federation of Holistic Therapists and all the other leading Reflexology associations. This is the highest level you can train at to become a Practitioner Reflexologist and is recognised across the UK. Our training venues are in Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham / Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Milton-Keynes, Oxford, Peterborough, Cambridge, Essex, Central London, Maidstone and between Arundel and Chichester.
There are many schools and colleges offering Reflexology Diploma training courses, but how do you know which one to go to? Will you learn the right level of Reflexology training? Will your qualification be widely recognised by employers, the UK government and private healthcare insurance companies? The answers to all these questions at Jubilee College is YES!!
Hear from one of our graduates, Vicky Hildyard, who talks about her experience of Jubilee College and what she is doing now she is qualified.
Included in our course is:
- An OFQUAL externally awarded (Agored Cymru) Level 5 Diploma in Practitioner Reflexology (a GENUINE Level 5 program).
- A Reflexology qualification within the Sector Subject Area - 'Nursing and subjects and vocations allied to medicine'.
- Jubilee College is one of the few colleges who are part of RiEN (Reflexology in Europe Nexus), which furthers your international credentials.
- Practical Foot Reflexology - all our practical training is hands-on and face to face (not online).
- Practical Hand Reflexology.
- ALL 20 of the lessons we teach will contain practical Reflexology.
- Reflexology for Cancer, Palliative and Chronic illness.
- Adaptive Integrated Reflexology (an exclusive technique only taught at IRC affiliated schools).
- Reflexology for Reproductive Health, Pregnancy and Menopause
- Anatomy and Physiology of the Human Body and the Pathology of Disease, so that you understand how and why your clients have become ill or stressed (the course hand-outs are detailed with colour pictures and written in plain English!) We teach this in-class, not online as many other schools do. This guarantees support where it is needed most.
- How to tailor a treatment plan to an individual client and condition.
- How to create a successful business. (We don't just train you to be a great Reflexologist, we give you all the tools needed to be a successful and profitable Reflexologist!)
- Supervised clinical practice and practical work at home (Case studies)
- Understanding Reflexology research
- 79 Credits (these can be used if you want to progress on to a University Degree or other Higher Education course - do please see our FAQ page for more information on why Credits are important).
- All training handouts are included in the course
- Free videos of our Foot and Hand Reflexology techniques and A1 coloured Foot Map, and an A3 coloured hand map is included.
- Free lifetime support once you are qualified!
If you are looking at alternative schools, do make sure they can match the above.
During your course, you will undertake 100 case study treatments, four assessments of your practical skills (client studies) plus there will be about 630 hours of homework to do in your own time. The good news is, that there is no end of term exam - you will build a portfolio of work throughout the course, and upon successful completion of this (and your practical assessments), you will then qualify as a Practitioner Reflexologist.
Class sizes are kept small to guarantee individual tuition, so to avoid disappointment, early booking is recommended. To see what training is like at Jubilee College, click here to have a look at our photo gallery. To book a course, please scroll to the bottom of this page.
At Jubilee College we train you to become a Practitioner Reflexologist in both foot and hand Reflexology. On graduation you will be able to register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) - the UK's most recognised complementary health register, and become a member of any of the above organisations (without the need for upgrading). Lastly, all graduates of Jubilee College are allowed to use the initials GJC after their name.
Entry requirements for the course:
- Be over 18 years at the start of training.
- Have a good level of written and spoken English.
- Have sufficient ability to perform reflexology techniques .
- There is no 'academic' requirement for entry onto this course. However, the course is quite demanding (it is level 5), so we do ask for hard work and determination :-) (we suggest that most students need about 12 - 14 hours per week of home study).
- Physical attendance to all lessons is required, as on-line learning is not allowed. However, if you can't make a date at your class, you can swap weekends (at no cost) to any of the Jubilee venues. If this is not possible, a catch-up lesson can be arranged with your tutor.
- All coursework is submitted by e-mail, so you need to be able to use a word processing program and know how to attach files to an e-mail. If you don't know how to do either of these, attending a basic computer course at your local college prior to starting our course would be highly recommended.
- We encourage you to attend one of our classes prior to booking. If you can't do this, an enrolment interview will need to be arranged either by phone or on Zoom. Please contact your local tutor to arrange this by clicking here.

If you are booking 8 weeks in advance of the course start date, we are offering a £250.00 EarlyBird discount off the course fee.
